Sunny spot with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day
Ideal for patio, balcony or conservatory
Indoors only in a very bright location, preferably near a large south-facing window.
Water requirement
Water regularly: keep the potting soil slightly moist, but avoid wet roots
Provide extra water during warm periods, especially during fruit formation
Water a little more sparingly in winter, but never allow it to dry out completely.
Winter hardiness
Not completely winter hardy: tolerates temperatures down to approx. -3°C
In colder areas, overwinter in a cool, light space
More sensitive to frost in a pot than in open ground
Fun fact: If cared for properly, a lemon tree can produce flowers and fruit all year round—sometimes even simultaneously, allowing you to enjoy both the harvest and the fragrance continuously.
