Appearance of the plant

• Elegant, feather-shaped leaves on slender, upright stems

• Dark green, glossy leaves that give a luxurious and tropical look

• In pots usually 120–200 cm tall, but can grow to about 3 metres indoors

Location

• Bright spot with lots of indirect sunlight

• Also tolerates partial shade and does well in places with less light

• Avoid prolonged bright midday sun to prevent leaf burn

Water requirement

• Water moderately: allow the top layer of potting soil to dry before watering again

• Water regularly in spring and summer, more sparingly in winter

• Likes slightly higher humidity, but tolerates drier air better than many other palms

Winter hardiness

• Not winter hardy, only suitable as a houseplant

• Minimum temperature: approx. 15°C

• Protect against draughts and cold air currents
